This past month, we had the honor and privilege of opening Casa de Esperanza, or "House of Hope", in Chiapas, Mexico! Casa de Esperanza is a new project very near and dear to our heart and will serve widows and their children who are in need. This project was birthed through meeting a beautiful woman, named Lidia, and her family, who were in desperate need of help. Keep reading to hear more about Casa de Esperanza and how this project came to be.

Casa de Esperanza

Casa de Esperanza is a beautiful project designed to bring restoration and healing to widows and their children in need. While our team was in Chiapas hosting both a marriage and women's conference, we had our grand opening and moved our first family into Casa de Esperanza. This home will provide the tools and resources to help families get back on their feet by covering rent, utilities, food and water bills, along with providing education to launch them in to their next season of life. Please join us in praying for this project and all of the families that it will serve along the way.

Meet Lidia

The heart behind Casa de Esperanza is a beautiful woman named Lidia and her six children. Lidia first came into contact with the local church when her husband had a large mass that needed to be removed. Sadly, soon after his surgery to remove the mass, Lidia's husband passed away, leaving her to raise her five oldest children on her own. As a result, she had to find a job to provide for her family. We lost contact with her up until about a year ago when her youngest daughter broke her arm. She reconnected with the local church and asked for help. When the pastor and his wife went to visit her, they found out that she had been raped and was six months pregnant.
Pictured above is Lidia's home when we met her. We knew that we needed to do something to help her and her children. Just two days before Lidia gave brith to her sixth child, we moved her into an apartment on site at the church. We began strategizing and planning for how we could better serve her during this time. Lidia and her children are the first residents of Casa de Esperanza and the heart behind this project. We were able to provide new clothes and shoes for the family, along with school supplies for the children. All of her financial needs will be taken care of during her time at Casa de Esperanza, including supplementing her salary so she can take time to heal and take care of her family.
Please be in prayer for Lidia and her children as they are on the road to restoration and healing in Christ. If you would like to give towards this project, please click the link below.

Women's Team

In the midst of opening up Casa de Esperanza, we also hosted a group of ladies that put on both a marriage conference and women's conference in Tuxtla. Many people came from all over to recieve from these conferences and experience life change. Our Women's Team had a very busy week but still made it by to see the children at Casa Hogar Alegre and pass out food to a local village in need.
